Lamb Society
To Improve the Standard of Living & Quality of Life of Marginalized People

Community Development Programme : Projects

Apart from evangelism the goal of LAMBS is to contribute to the reduction of poverty in these vulnerable village communities by ensuring efficient management of natural resources, increased educational status, and improved health and economic conditions. This will be done with sensitivity to the social, economic, and political contexts of the respective village communities and the marginalized groups within them, including women. The role of LAMBS is to address poverty on a long-term basis by facilitating the creation of replicable community models and developmental knowledge at the grassroots level. This will further empower community organizations and local NGOs to influence local policy-making bodies so that the needs of the people are taken into consideration in development matters. Promoting participatory involvement and helping to build new capacities among community members through the promotion of skills and knowledge is critical to the success of LAMBS.

These are the following programme activities:

Disaster Help:

In addition to evangelism, the Lamb society had taken special care to provide spiritual and physical support to the people in times of natural disaster like fie accidents and flood relief with the helps of community development projects. We have distributed cloths, Rice , Cash and other ingredients to the people who lost their belongings if fire accidents occurred in hamlets of Bhadrachalam.

Self Help Groups:

Sustainable livelihood activities include formation and strengthening of Self Help Groups. Some of the SHG members trained in livelihood skills are involved in making candles, pickles, operating a fruit processing centre etc., while others have started running micro enterprises like teashops, grocer shops etc..

Family Fellowship:

In these busy days, most of the families are engaged in their works therefore are unable to spend time with their own family (especially with their children). So LAMBS decided to organize family fellowship to help them to build an intimate relation amongst the family members. The whole day, all the parents were encouraged to participate in different types of games and activities which helped them to spend some quality time with their children. This programme is conducted only for our project children families.

Adult literally Programme:

Old aged people as per their choice are required to attend the night schools to learn and work the letters and they are trained till they read and write. For this young talented youth are motivated for gathering the old people to educate them and tell the importance of literary.
